My new album “Ramblin Boy” has just been released. It has long been an ambition of mine to record my own album in my own studio. So, last year I decided to set up my own studio and start recording ! The result is a 14 track album with a mix of Irish and country plus a trumpet solo.
I chose the title “Ramblin Boy” as unfortunately our people have to pack our bags and travel to far off places in search of work and a new life. I included three of my favourite Irish songs; the ever popular “The fields of Athenry”, “Come back Paddy Reilly to Ballyjamesduff”, and also a great song written by my friend Gerry Carney called “Paddy”, which is a great tribute to Irish people who have worked all over the world.
By popular demand I have recorded a unique trumpet piece “Il Silenzio”, and I hope you enjoy my arrangement ! Among the other songs are “Just a thought away” and “Knowing you’ll be there”, with beautiful memories and stories to be found in each one.
I would like to thank all the musicians who played and contributed to this album and also thank all the people who helped me in so many ways, in particular my son Mark.
Finally, to all listeners and fans, thank you for the years of support and many more to come. I hope you enjoy the new album ! As a thank you, I’ve included some samples of the new songs for you here. Also, check in on my youtube channel
